Rose Lobo, Brazilian Artist

Dear Senior Arts Foundation Friend,

You are cordially invited to a Private Reception and Artist Talk Program of Rose Lobo, Brazilian Artist.

Rose Lobo is from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In her art, she follows her unconscious mind to discover the symbols innate in life and nature. She tries to formulate imaginary beings and arrange them according to her own material logic.  As a result, she describes the primitive, archaic and exotic symbols with tangible forms of her own. Her love of music and dance influences the sense of design and composition in her work. She draws from all materials and ideas, both conscious and unconscious.

“For me, life itself is art.
As an artist, I seek to reach people through universal love and respect for all things and all beings, especially Planet Earth.  Everyone can take a step in that direction.  My art transforms nothingness into beauty and waste into treasures.”

We are delighted to introduce Ms. Rose Lobo’s Show curated by Myung Deering. It will be shown from August to October, 2009 as part of the Senior Artists Reception Program at the Senior Arts Foundation. Please meet this artist in person and share her artistic visions.

Three Intergenerational Women Artists (May 1 – July 31, 2009)

The Three Intergenerational Women Artists, curated by Myung Deering, portrays the artistic differences through the works of three intergenerational women artists in Myung’s family. The artists are: Soon Kim, grandmother, Ah-young Kim, sister, and Li ‘n Lee (aka Leanne Jan Lee), granddaughter.

Senior Arts Foundation is delighted to introduce this exciting exhibit through the Senior Artist Reception Program.

“Pattern and symbols can express a generation of tradition. They mark human existence and define culture, leaving traces of time spent and values developed. I am translating the landscape of masses – an amalgam of boundaries and borders that connect us to our past and our potential future.”

Li ‘n Lee, Granddaughter
